About J-artist Operator
YUKARI Kaihori
Photo (Artist statement)
My beliefs about human nature and the place of humans in the world have developed through my life. I have been intrigued by the psychological understanding humans have about the nature of the relationship between ourselves and the world we inhabit. Religion and culture often attempt to provide us with a way of understanding our relationship to the natural world. However, the myriad religions and cultures of the world often conflict on what the nature of that relationship is. I choose painting to exercise my thought intending to express images of my own personal vision of the place of human beings in this world. My works may reflect my multicultural background- growing up in Brazil, Japan, and USA. Each cultural experience inspired and created who I am.
